Present:
Len Bristowe, Denis and Heeni Black, Puti Tipene, Ane, Poata and Ripeka Nathan, Margaret Tipene, Sky Palmer, Jim Palmer, Mere Phillips.

Minutes of last meeting and treasurer’s report was circulated, time was given to read both.
All accounts are up to date.
It was resolved to accept the minutes and the treasurer’s report. Puti Tipene/Ripeka Nathan.
The following koha have come in.
Tohu Whanau Hui Mate $500.00

Nga mihi whānui ki a koutou mo a koutou koha aroha.
Agenda:
Tui Shortland: Wānanga 20.12.2012. Tui is not present to speak to it.
Jim Palmer: Proposes to create a mural either on the wharekai or on the school house fence across the road. He will work with the children at the kura and also get input from the community. He has spoken with the principal at the kura and will begin the project at the 22nd of Feb.
Everyone present was in support of Jim’s proposal.
Puti: Would like the califonts auctioned off as planned several months ago.
It was decided that the auction will be held on Saturday morning at 8:30am. There are two califonts, one working and one broken.

8:30am Auction at Wharekai
9:00am School prize giving and gala.
2:30pm Crete and Deb’s wedding.
Poata: Poata and Sam volunteered to be caretakers for the water. It is imperative that the water be running at all times. They will need a key to access all areas of the marae, Poata also paid to get the pump fixed, $198.
Len: I tuku mihi ki a Poata mo tōna whakaaro rangatira ki te tiaki i te wai. Me waiho rao ki te mahi i to rao mahi, me hoatu hoki he kī, engari kaua e hoatu ki tētahi atu.
A notice will be put up on the pump shed with Poata and Sam’s phone numbers, if the water is not working properly then those using the marae at the time will be able to contact either one of them. Poata: 4385295, Sam 4376326/021496958.
It was resolved that Poata be reimbursed for the money he spent getting the pump fixed. Puti Tipene/Len Bristowe.
After some discussion, it was decided that the Marae will still operate on a koha as in previous years.
Use of showers at the complex: Members of our local community are using the showers at the complex, it is a concern because of the cost to the marae. Len will deal with it.
In our 5 year strategic plan it states that after the wharekai is completed we would start on the Wharenui then the ablution block. This matter was discussed and it was resolved that the ablution block will be done before the Wharenui. Heeni Black/Mere Phillips.
Denis: At the beginning of the month Rongomau gave the following:
For the use of the marae by rugby club $350
Bar takings on the opening day $150
Total $500
Thank you Rongomau and your helpers.
Mere asked for permission to take some of the chairs from the wharekai into the Wharenui. Permission was granted.
There will be no meeting in January.
Mata will advertise the AGM:Email to whanau, Ngatihine FM, School newsletter, The Yakka.
At the AGM, all trustees will step-down, new trustees will be elected for the next 3 years; current trustees stepping down will still be eligible to be voted on again.
Both the person nominated and the person nominating must be present.
The AGM will be held on Saturday the 2nd of March, at 10:00am.
The intention was to hold the AGM in February, but because of all the events already calendared for February it had to be moved to March.
Blackie: We need to get a lock for the ablution block gas bottle cage.
Blackie will be responsible for buying the lock.

The February monthly meeting has been postponed, it will not be held tomorrow the 7th of Feb, it will be held next Thursday, the 14th of February, at 6:00pm.
